Eravikulam National Park is 15 km north of Munnar. Anamudi at 2694mt, the highest peak south of the Himalayas, is on the southern side of the Park. This is one of the wettest areas of the world. The wildlife that can be seen here are the tigers, panthers, wild dogs, civet cats, jungle cats, sloth bears, Nilgiri langurs and wild boar. Half, of the world's total population of the Nilgiri tahr live here. The sanctuary can be visited from 0700-1800 hrs. Visitors are not allowed during the monsoon.
