AYUTTHAYA – THE BIRD’S EYE VIEW

Ayutthaya or Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya was the former capital city of Thailand. The city is a token of the glory Thailand held as the prosperous kingdom of yesteryear. The place was declared to be the historical city by the UNESCO in the year 1991 gives a fair idea about the historical validity of the place.

Ayutthaya bears the synonym of the ‘Venice of the East’ surrounded by three rivers. Around the city canals are built to connect it to the water transport system. The Thai authorities are making full use of this by arranging the boat trips and canal trips. The spots of tourist attraction include the Chao Phraya National Museum, the very large image of Lord Buddha called ‘Phra Mongkhon Bophit’ is being kept over here adding to the splendour of the historical value of the grand old city. More over the ruins of the Grand Royal Palace reminds one of the importance and the bigger picture of the exerting influence of the royal life in the social spectrum of the Thai society.

The official language of Thailand include the Thai and English. The geographical expanse of Ayutthaya will roundly be about 2556 sq km.
