Sydney travel guide

Australia’s largest and oldest city, where the first settlers landed in 1788. It is the capital city of the New South Wales. A large, sprawling giant of a city stretching about 70 km north south and 55 km east west.

Sydney is a major tourist destination and attracts the majority of Australia's immigrants and the city's predominantly Anglo-Irish heritage has been revitalized by large influxes of Italians, Lebanese, Turks, Greeks, Chinese and Vietnamese.

In Sydney one can see the intermingling of cultures. Here one can see historic sites, colonial buildings and cobbled streets,  tourist precincts, tall buildings, beautiful beaches, cosmopolitan nightlife, harbour and river cruises, inner city monorail, world class aquarium, museums and art galleries.

Visiting this city is an essential part of an Australian experience. This great cosmopolitan city has everything from style great looks and sophistication. The Olympic Games were held here in 2000. Sydney has been ranked as one of the most fashionable destinations of the new millennium.
