The Lord Narasimha Temple is 16 km from Vishakapatnam in Simhachalam, the 'Hill of the Lion', famous for its 11th century hilltop temple of Lord Narasimha. The diety in the Narsimha temple is always covered with sandalwood paste giving it a appearance of a sandalwood shivalinga.

During the Chandanayatra Festival celebrated here with great pomp in march-april, the real shape of the diety can be seen.
