Along, situated on the southern bank of the river Siyom, is the headquarters of the West Siang district of the beautiful state of Arunachal Pradesh. The town, which is mostly inhabited by the Adi people, is the ideal base for trekking, hiking and for angling on the River Siyom.

Of interest also is the cross breeding farm of the Mithun and Jersey cows at Kamki, 25 km from Along. The main festivals of Along are Mopin which starts in April and the Solung festival in September.
