Dibru-Saikhowa National Park lies partly in Dibrugarh and partly in Tinsukia district in assam. It covers an area of 483 sq.km.
The park is an ideal habitat for many animals and birds. It is the home to fernal horses and rare Ganges river dolphins besides the royal Bengal Tiger, Leopard, Leopard Cat, Clouded Leopard, Elephant Wild Buffalo, a variety of deer and other animals. This includes White Winged Wood Duck, bengal Florican, Great Indian Hornbill, Indian Pied Hornbill, Spotted Billed Pelican, Great Indian Hornbill etc.
In the park one can trek, take an elephant safari or trekking combined with camping on the fringe islands. |
