Go Top   Lauria Areraj (Nalanda)  The 11.5 mt high Ashokan column was erected here in 249 BC. The polished sandstone pillar has six edicts on it. The site is 30 km from Motihari. Go Top   Lauria Nandangarh (Nalanda)  The 8.5 mt polished sandstone column also has an edict engraved on it. Nearby are the remains of Nandangarh Stupa, believed to contain the ashes of Buddha. Go Top
