Spread over an area of about 214 acrea, the Delhi Zoo is situated close to the Purana Quila. It is one of the very few places in the world which are able to provide the animals with an enviornment closest to their natural habitat. There are more than 2000 species of animals residing in the zoo, the most famous are the white tigers, giraffes and african elephant. Monkeys and a large variety of birds can also be seen here.
