The former residence of Indira Gandhi at 1, Safdarjung road, has been converted into a museum. On display are some of her personal effects including the sari which she was wearing at the time of her assassination. There is a crystal plague in the gardens which is under constant guard by two soldiers to protect the brown spots of Mrs Indira Gandhi's blood on the spot where she actually fell after being shot by two of her sikh bodyguards. The memorial remains opens every day. |
