The Manimahesh temple at Bharmour is a sacred pilgrimage center. In the months of July and August pilgrims from all over northern India converge on Bharmour for Manimahesh yatra to commence the pilgrimage to the sacred lake of Manimahesh, 28 km away, below the peak of Manimahesh Kailash. Parents blessed with a baby boy take the child on the pilgrimage, during which the child's hair are ceremonially cut.

Prior to the pilgrimage, a seven day fair is held at Bharmour. Fifteen days after the commencement of the festival, the pilgrims are lead by the priest to Manimahesh. There is a very beautiful, ancient temple dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi.
