The Empress Botanical Gardens have fine tropical trees, with a small zoo nearby. Peshwa Park has a zoo with a variety of species of animals abd birds.

The Bund Gardens, presently known as Mahatma Gandhi Udyan, are situated on the banks of Mula-Mutha river. The Bund was constructed by Sir Jamshedji Jeejeebhoy for providing water to the poor. There is boating facility and a good jogging track.
