Chowpatty is the most famous beach in Mumbai. Though the beach remains almost solitary during the day, it comes alive life in the evening.

Families come to enjoy a stroll after dinner or a beach side picnic. It may not be ideal for a dip but can be called an entertainment beach. There are several vendors selling items like balloons, nuts, etc. Chowpatty is famous for it's panipuri, fruit kulfi, pav-bhaji and bhelpuri, which are a treat to your senses.

The beach is at it's best during the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi, when the large idols of the elephant-headed God are immersed in the sea.
