This place is highly fashionable downtown.Situated in the southern corner of peninsula.A must visit for all the travellers as it boasts of excellent shops, cafes and stalls provided one knows how to bargain.
Situated at the end of the harbour is the Gateway of India.Which was made in traditional gujrati style of architecture.Right opposite to it is The Taj Mahal Hotel.A five star hotel which was built in 1903 by a rich parsi called Mr.J.N.Tata.Who was apparently denied the admission in another hotel due to racial descrimination. So he promised himself that one day he will built the hotel which will be bigger and better. The streets behind the Taj are also abuzz with activity. In the same vicinity is Prince of Wales museum, which is a little to the north.
