Imam Sultan Muhammad Sha Aga Khan III, built this place in 1892 and is set in 6.5 hectares of gardens.
The British interned Mahatma Gandhi and his wife Kasturba Gandhi in this house for 2 years. During this period of imprisonment Kasturba Gandh died. Here samadhi was built here and her ashes are still kept there.
