About 10 km from Jowai, 65 km east of Shillong, Nartiang was the summer capital of the Jaintia Kings. Legend has it that a giant called U Mar Phalyngki placed some towering megaliths in a park. This park is now a prominent landmark of the village. The tallest megalith here is 8 mt high and 2 mt wide. A 500 year old temple of Goddess Durga is the other major attraction of this area.
