Sanghol, located in the district of Ludhiana, is an important archaeological site. Excavations here have yielded coins of the Nomadic rulers Toramana and Mahiragula. In 1968, a Buddhist stupa and in February 1985, a rich collection of 117 intricately carved stone slabs, pillars and crossbars relating to the Kushan dynasty were excavated at Sanghol. These treasures have since been displayed in a museum within the town. |
