Located at a distance of 37 kms north of Kota, the one time capital of a prosperous princely state, Bundi was independant until it was incorporated with Rajasthan in the year 1947. Known for it's intricate paintings and murals; Bundi is home to several forts and palaces.
Till 1624, before interference by Jehangir, Kota was a part of Bundi. It is a small picturesque town with a good panache and rustic charm. There are several interesting historic sites in Bundi including the Chitra Shala, Phool Sagar Palace, Sukh Mahal, Shikar Burj, Rani ki Bari and Sar Bagh. |
