The lake and forested hills of this reserve, situated 32 kms from Bikaner on the Jaisalmer road, are inhabited by wildfowl and a number of deer and antelopes. Imperial sand grouse migrate here in winter. In the sanctuary you can even see wild boar, black bucks, the majestic sand grouse, nilgai and chinkara. This place of scenic beauty has hillocks encompassing it and housing a lovely lake. On the banks of this lake is an old summer palace which is used as a hotel now.
