Lachung is a Bhutia village with a self governing body called the Zumsa. Lachung has emerged as a tourist destination with the soaring popularity of Yumthang valley which is just 25 km away from Lachung. The village has managed to retain it's unique culture and tradition. The Lachung Monastery is the focal point of all religious functions of the local inhabitants.
