Built by the Vijayanagars, this enormous monument is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It has a beautifully sculptured pillared hall as well as a marriage hall commemorating the wedding of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. One of the temple's most notable features is a huge chain carved from a single piece of stone.

Within the large temple tank a 10 mt statue of Lord Vishnu is immersed in it. Every 40 years the waters of the tank are drained so that the statue may be viewed. In 1979, this event occurred and a large number of people visited the spot.
