  Adhiamankottai (Hongenakkal)
 Adhiamankottai is connected with the chieftain of Tagadur called Adigaman. There are several inscriptions within the fort which describes various philanthropic donations to the temples, given by the chieftains.

  Hosur (Hongenakkal)
 The name Hosur in 'Kanarese' means "new town". In this town there is a large fort, Kottai Mariamman temple and Lord Chandrasundeswarar temple.

  Krishnagiri (Hongenakkal)
 Once a place of importance in the wars, Krishnagiri also possesses a fort. This dilapidated fort, with huge boulders of stupendous size making the walls, reveal it's glorious past. Nearby is a dam which is a picnic spot.

  Thali (Hongenakkal)
 Another important town with a fortress abutting a tank. A Kanarese inscription on the tank bund says that the fort was constructed in 1530 A.D during the reign of Achuta Raya of Vijayanagar.

  Theerthamalai (Hongenakkal)
 Theerthamalai, a small hillock, is a pilgrim centre. Atop the hillock is the ancient Shive temple, where the presiding deity is 'Theerthagireeswar'. There are holy springs on the hillock.
