  The Kumari Amman Temple (Kanyakumari)
 Kumari Amman is a famous temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva's consort Parvathi as Devi Kanya - the virgin Goddess. The temple is situated on a beach.

  Vivekananda Rock Memorial (Kanyakumari)
 On the sea-side is built a large, beautiful memorial dedicated to Swami Vivekanand. This is the place where he did his meditation.

 Built in the memory of Gandhiji, this memorial is a good example of modern architecture. The pot containing the last remains of Gandhiji is placed in such manner that on his birthday (2nd October) the first rays of sunlight falls on it.
