There are numerous temples in this place. The Sarangapani, Kumbeswarar, Nageswara and Ramaswamy temples are very famous and devotees from far and wide come here. Like the Kumbha mela in North India, here a Mahamagam congregation takes place once in 12 years. The last one was held in 1992. It is 36 km from Thanjavur.
