  Mahishasuramardhini Caves (Mamallapuram)
 The nine rock-cut temples are famous for their real-life depiction of incidents from the Hindu mythology.

  Krishna Mandapam (Mamallapuram)
 Out of the eight rock cut cave temples, the Krishna temple is believed to be the best for it's eternal sculptures, depicting Lord Krishna playing in the fields. There is a small museum nearby.

 This was an open air theater used for organising cultural programs. The sculpture of lions and tigers on the entrance gives it the name of Tiger Caves. Though it is very near the sea, the place is calm and serene.

  Crocodile Bank (Mamallapuram)
 A crocodile breeding and research centre run by Chennai Crocodile Bank Trust. Several species of Indian and African crocodiles and alligators are bred here, in captivity in their natural surroundings in open pools.

 An ancient Shiva temple and a hill-top temple are located here. Daily, around noon, two sacred kites are fed by the priest at the hill-top temple.
