The village of Nagore, 12 km south of Karaikal, is one of the Muslim pilgrimage in India. At Nagore, there is 500 years old dargah of Hazrat Mian Sultan Syed Shahabudul Hameed, topped by a golden dome. Irrespective of caste, creed and religion, people offer their worship at this Islamic shrine. Kandhuri festival held during the months of October and November is very popular.
