Chopta is considered to be one of the most beautiful and picturesque spots in the whole Garhwal, situated at a height of 12,000 ft from sea level. A number of trekking expeditions are carried out in this area. Chopta is also the base for the famous Tunganath temple, on the inner Himalayan range, is among a few shrines situated at a height of more than 13,000 feet from the sea level.
