The largest town of Sarawak is Miri, is located in the extreme northeast
of Sarawak, off the South China Sea. It is the neighboring town
to the oil rich kingdom of Brunei. It is within easy reach of national
parks, huge rivers, heritage and adventure travel destinations and
some of the best scuba diving in Borneo. There's a wealth of fruits
and vegetables, seafood, game and meats at the Tamu Muhibbah markets,
a must see for visitors.
Penang- the 'Pearl of the Orient, also called as Pulau Pinang,
is one of the most beautiful and the most popular tourist destination
in Malaysia. Penang is famous for its beautiful natural surroundings
and its historical past. The capital, Georgetown, is quite popular
for its elegant colonial buildings and old world charm, which exists
quite harmoniously along with modern hotels, department stores and
shopping complexes.

Sarawak, the largest state of Malaysia, is located on the north-western
shore of the island of Borneo. Its rainforest, the size of Austria,
houses the world's richest and most diverse ecosystem. It is also
home to the world's largest flower, the Rafflesia, the size of a
coffee table, squirrels and snakes that fly, deer the size of cats,
plants that eat insects (and small mammals) and species of flora
and insects still waiting to be discovered. The wildlife preserves
in this area include the Bako National Park, the Batang Ai National
Park, an orangutan sanctuary at Semmongok, a turtle sanctuary at
Pulau Satang.
Sipadan lies in the Sulawesi Sea or the Celebes Sea, off the coast
of Sabah on mainland Borneo. It has a total area of 12 hectares.
Pulau Sipadan is a coral island - in the true sense of the term
as it was formed by layers upon layers of coral that grew on the
walls of a submarine extinct volcano. The volcano rises as high
as 600 mt from its base on the floor of the sea. At some places,
the seabed drops to depths of 2,850ft and one such drop is barely
15ft from the beach. The sheer precipitation and depth turns the
clear water into a dark, almost mysterious black green. The suns
rays dont quite reach this far down and it is impossible to
see without artificial light, thus adding to the difficulty and
danger for divers. That is also one of the reasons why Sipadan Island
has been nominated amongst the worlds and certainly South
East Asias best dive spots. Deep sea divers and professionals
photographers come to Sipadan, drawn by the numerous dive sites
that lie a short distance from the main island.
This beautiful tropical island paradise, Tioman Island is really
something special. The largest island in an archipelago of 64 volcanic
islands lying in the South China Se waters, ea, just off the east
coast of Malaysia, Tioman has soft white beaches, aqua blue emerald
green peaks and iridescent coral reefs. The outlying reefs are wonderful
for diving, snorkeling or simply swimming.
