Islands of Malaysia are characterised
as paradise islands, with crystal clear water, clean powdery sands,
swaying palms, beautiful coral island.
Pulau Tioman, Pulau Langkawi, Pulau
Sipadan, Pulau Rawa, Pulau Sibu and Pulau Redang are among the best
islands of Malaysia. Many marine activities like fishing, skin
diving, scuba diving, snorkeling, lobster hunting, underwater photography,
wind surfing etc are done on these islands.

Pulau Langkawi
Also known as the island of myths, Pulau Langkawi is situated in
the State of Kedah. The island can be easily reached by a boat or
a ferry, passing through several small islands.
Langkawi consists of a group of 99
tropical islands lying off the north-western coast of Peninsular
Malaysia, about 30 km from Kuala Perlis and 51 km from Kuala Kedah
on the mainland. The main island is popularly known as Pulau
Langkawi.
These islands are associated with several mystical tales, legends
and mythology. Most famous for it's beautiful sandy beaches, Langkawi
has a different meaning for different people. Some people prefer
it for its black sand which sparkle in the sun, like soft charcoal,
while some love its unprecedented rock formations, the limestone
coastline and its flora and fauna, opulent with natural dense equatorial
rain forest. Duty-free shopping and snorkeling are the other
attractions.

Pulau Rawa
Pulau Rawa is famous for it's tall palm trees, white coral sand
and off shore coral reef which is rich with marine life and neon-green
coloured fishes and other remarkable forms of sea life.
This vivid beauty lies 16 km
off the coast of Mersing. With many caves and coral reefs with abundant
tropical fishes and other forms of marine life, the island remains
hidden due to the wooden chalets nestled among coconut groves. This
heavenly locale, among the waters of the South China sea, takes
one away from every tension and stress of all kinds.
Snorkel and diving equipment, to
enable the visitors to come in close contact with the underwater
life, is provided at the Rawa Safaris Island Resort. These waters
are safe for canoeing and windsurfing. Other sports that can be
enjoyed here are; fishing, skin-diving, scuba-diving, shell collection,
lobster-hunting and underwater photography. Dolphins can also be
spotted here.

Tioman Island
Largest among a group of 64 volcanic islands, Tioman Island, twinkles
like a jewel in the South China sea. With crystal clear cerulean
seas and white beaches, this mysterious island mesmerizes all with
it's bewitching equatorial beauty.
Tioman Islands is inhabited by friendly
villagers who lead a very simple and less chaotic life. It
is believed to be one of the ten most beautiful islands in the world.
A multicolored extravaganza of orchids and other tropical flowers
and macerate slopes of luxurious green vegetations can be seen here.
Among the prismatic coral reefs is a breathtakingly lovely cascade,
which make it's way down through the secluded sandy beaches, falling
from the equatorial slopes. This is a great place to visit.
The most popular beaches are located around the villages of Tekek,
Genting and Salang.

Pulau Sibu
Pulau Sibu lies within the East Coast of Johore, a Southern state
of Malaysia. This pristine beauty, shadowed by many popular islands,
has not been damaged by the rush of tourists. The soft white sand
of the magnificent beaches glitters against the emerald green waters,
portraying an eternal beauty, it is a perfect place to relax.
Fun activities includes various types
of water sports like; canoeing, snorkeling, sailing, windsurfing,
scuba diving, deep sea fishing and jungle trekking. One can
also pay a visit to the nearby islands of Sibu Besar Island, Sibu

Pulau Sipadan
On the eastern coast of Sabah, off the small coastal town of Semporna,
Pulau Sipadan is one of the best diving spots in the Southeast Asia.
With a sudden deep drop of the sea to 2850 ft, only 15 ft from the
beach, the indigo blue of the water is awe-inspiring. Due to the
intense dark of the water one hardly see what is moving around.
This famous feature won Sipadan island
a "Best Beach Dive in the World" award in 1993. Overflowing with
aquatic life, innumerable colourful tropical fishes can be seen
in the warm water near the surface while the large groupers nose
about. A rare variety of both soft and hard coral are one of the
main attractions of the divers. These waters contain reef fish of
every shape, size and color, and provide an underwater retreat to
the colourful butterfly fishes, angel fishes, damsel fishes of electric
blue and bright orange colors inhabit the coral reefs.
The Green and Hawksbill turtles, from the month of April to September,
comes ashore in droves to nest in the soft golden sands of Sipadan.
Diving during this period will lead you to encounter these harmless
species of the deep waters. Edged with a beautiful white-sand beach,
the real beauty of Sipadan lies in it's waters. With the average
visibility ranging between 60 ft to over 200 ft, the diving season
remains from mid-February to mid-December.
Hanging Gardens, the Barracuda Point and the exciting Turtle Cavern
are some of the diving spots named after the variety of corals and
aquatic life. With a comfortable accommodation and other facilities
like water, electricity, foods, drinks, etc the complete operation
has been taken over by professional diving companies to make your
stay an unforgettable experience. This spot can be easily reached
with a 45 minutes boat ride from Semporna.

Redang Island
Surrounded by clean waters, pearly white shores, exotic marine life
in exciting forms and colours and a breathtakingly lovely sunset
view. Redang Island is located just 50 km from the mainland and
a 2 hour ride from Marang Jetty.
A scuba diver's paradise, this is the world's most colourful and
mature coral park.
Perfect swimming, snorkeling, scuba
diving, jungle trekking, fishing, boating, and canoeing; it is one
of the best spots in the world for diving. The marine life here
is well protected, souvenir hunters are strictly prosecuted.

Pulau Kapas
Easily accessible, the island of Pulau Kapas lies only 6 km
from the mainland. A convenient haven from the chaotic life. It
is located at a half hour ride from Marang, a fishing village 17
km south of Kuala Terengganu. The hidden treasure of Terengganu,
this tranquil spot is an ideal place for a family picnic.
The cotton like sands of Kapas work
like a cushion for the tired feet and help one to relax. The calm
and timid waters are perfectly fit for snorkeling, kayaking or simply
plummeting into watery depths.
