195 km from Bangkok, Hua Hin in Thai means
'Stone Head'. That is actually a land mark
of this resort town. To the left of the
main beach stands the name-sake, a big boulder
on a pile of stones. To the right, stretches
the fabled beach of Hua Hin an expanse of
sandy beach reaching away to the distant
Khao Takiap Hills.
In the early 20th century, King Rama VII
built a summer place here, and thus the
place gained tremendous popularity among
the elite class.
Hua
Hin provide a quieter, more relaxed retreat
amid surroundings which preserve a typical
Thai ambience. Hua Hin is well suited for
families or for those who wish simply to
escape city bustle.
