Day 1 : COLOMBO AIRPORT - PINNAWELA - KANDY
Arrival, welcome & assistance at the airport. Leave for Kandy. En-route visit the Elephant orphanage at Pinnawela. This orphanage was established to feed nurse & house young elephants found abandoned by their mothers. Often the young ones fall into pits and ravines in their request for water during drought period. Lunch en route. visit the royal botanical gardens of Peradeniya which is well known for it’s large number and variety of plants, ornamental, decorative, useful & medicinal .more than 4000 species include indigenous and introduced plants. This garden is best known for it’s collection of orchids the largest in Asia Visit the city of Kandy. the most famous landmark of Kandy is its Lake, in the center of the city. Udawatte-kele is a nature reserve surrounded by city. The Kandy market is a great bazaar full of the sounds of exiting trade. Visit the temple of the sacred tooth relic of Buddha. Late in the evening view the Kandyan cultural performance. Dinner & Overnight at Hotel.
Day 2 : KANDY - TREKKING - CAMPSITE
After Bfst at the hotel leave to the camp site. Arriving at the Knuckles camp site at noon for lunch. with a extremely beautiful surrounding. 15 minutes walk to the sight from the main road.
Commence the exploration of the Knuckles range after lunch at the camp sight. This cluster of hills looming 1836 meters above Dumbara valley has it’s name because of it’s resemblance to a configuration of bunched to Knuckles, rich of beautiful landscapes contains rare fauna and flora. This range is world famous for it’s bio diversity. Average temperature in the night 12C - 14C.
Your 5 hours trek would give you a once in a life time experience in exploring this scenic beauty, tranquillity and peace, waiting to be discovered. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp site.
Day 3 : TREKKING - CAMPSITE
Leaving the camp site around 7.00 a.m. After B’fast to Randenigala. This route gives once a spectacular view of the valley below, dotted with historic Wewa’s and miles of forest as the traveler comes down. Lunch at the camp site.
Evening trek to Minipe anicut and canal a must to the visitor just to take in its sheer scenic beauty you may then visit Loggaloya a picturesque tank undoubtedly one of the most beautiful spots in the country. This area is a bird watcher’s paradise and lake areas specially good for the raptors which includes the uncommon smart and regal black eagle.
Dinner and overnight stay at the camp site.
Day 4 : CAMPSITE - TREKKING - NUWARA ELIYA
Start the early morning trek to Bambiyakanda around 6.00 a.m. Fantastic view of the Rantabe and Randenigala reservoirs can be seen from the summit.
Late B’ fast at the camp site. Leaving to Nuwareliya after B’ fast Via Kandapola. Lunch at the Hotel Windsor or Hill club. Site - seeing at Nuwara - Eliya. Dinner and overnight stay at the Hotel.
Day 5 : NUWARA ELIYA - TREKKING - HORTON PLAINS
Leaving the hotel around 6.00 a.m. to the Horton plains with picnic B’ fast, most certainly one of the worlds best nature reserves located in the highest plateau of Sri Lanka at an elevation of approx 7000 feet above sea level. Highlights of the plains are world’s end - the terrific escarpment, which drops vertically for about 1000 feet, bakers falls Chimmini pool etc. Rare species of fauna and flora are found here.
Lunch at the camp site. Evening trek to thotupalakanda Sri Lanka’s third highest mountain (2359 m.) Dinner and overnight stay at Horton Plains.
Day 6 : HORTON PLAINS - BELIHULOYA
B’fast at the camp site. Start trekking down hill approx 21 Km to Belihuloya. You will be driven 6 Km by a vehicle to start the trek and it will pick you up at Kalupahana to be driven to Belihuloya.
This trekking route which is named as satan’s steps due to it’s steep sharp bends and roughness has some of the best breathtaking views in the hill country. You would have descended approx 3500 ft. by the time meeting the vehicle.
Having a dip at the bottom of the Sri Lanka’s highest waterfall Bambarakanda on your way would be a major highlight. Picnic Lunch. Arriving at Belihiloya River Garden resort around 7.00 p. m. Dinner and overnight stay at the resort.
Day 7 : CAMPSITE BELIHULOYA
Leaving the hotel around 8.30 a.m. after B’ fast to “Udawalawe” National Park.
This 30821 hectares dry zone game park is world famous for its elephants, seen in all their playfulness whole herds of them, adults and babies bathing and playing in the water or feeding.
The park is surrounded by the scenic beauty of the mountain ranges that keep on winding endlessly on the Balangoda, Kalthota and Haputale escarpments.
Enjoy a typical Sri Lankan lunch at the camp site for an evening sofa.
Dinner and overnight stay at the camp site.
Day 8 : BELIHULOYA - MIRISSA
Leaving for an early morning safari after B’ fast and proceed to your beach resort in Mirissa. Evening relax at the beach hotel. Lunch enroute. Dinner & Overnight at Paradise beach club Mirissa.
Day 9 : MIRISSA
Free at the Beach hotel on Full Board basis. Paradise beach club Mirissa.
Day 10 : MIRISSA - DEPARTURE
B’fast at hotel transfer to the airport to connect flight for departure. Or extension beach stay. Check out 1200 Hrs.
